BCIT Faculty Bringing Forensic Health Science Skills to the Yukon

Photo of Sheila EarlyWhen a person has been sexually assaulted, one of the first medical professionals he or she is likely to come in contact with is a nurse. For the last week, a group of nurses from around the Yukon have been learning about the unique skills required to help those who have been assaulted. BCIT Forensic Health Sciences Program Coordinator, Sheila Early, recently went to Whitehorse to teach nurses how to care for victims of sexual assault and was interviewed by CBC News: Northbeat, CBC News: A New Day and the Whitehorse Star.
