The number of people who have depression continues to increase during the Covid-19 pandemic. Especially, international students who have to leave their family and have to do self-isolation by themselves during the pandemic.

“New immigrants could destroy the patronage of our country”-one Canadian from BC

Some Canadians from Vancouver disagree with the new immigration policy that the government of Canada announced on October 30, 2020.

Image from pixabay.com

Due to Covid-19, there have been many negative effects to the Canadian economy. The government of Canada has implemented a plan to increase new immigrants to over 1.2 million in the next 3 years to recover the economy and create more middle-class jobs.

However, Lou Ballarin, one Canadian from Vancouver disagrees with the plan.

“The quality of immigrants that are coming to Canada are not skilled and qualified enough to meet our educational criteria and be validated as professionals. If they are coming to Canada to take middle-class jobs away from Canadians, I think that destroy our patronage in our country”

When this plan is started in 2021, the country might have issues as stated by Lou, as such the government faces many challenges with this plan.

What are your favourite applications during the Covid-19 lockdown? I believe most of your answers could be Tiktok. TikTok has been one of the most popular applications during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many people use this app to create their videos when they’ve had free time during social isolation. A lot of videos are very creative and fun, so sometimes I spend all of my days watching TikTok videos. Because of the popularity of the application, it helps many people become famous and one of them is an Indie rock band from British Columbia named “ Mother Mother”.

Two other songs from the same album named “ Arms “Tonite” and “Wrecking Ball” have been popular in Tiktok as well. Moreover, there are more than 65 million views on the clip tagged “mothermother” since October 28th, 2020, so it pushes the band to No. 413 on the rankings of Rolling Stone’s Artists 500.

This is the power of many applications today. TikTok is a useful application that could help everyone become popular and successful, so everyone should use it right away, and hopefully, it can help you become famous just like Mother Mother.
