BC Music Scene-Le Vent du Nord

Le Vent du Nord is a pioneer band with a very national characteristics, also, they combine many materials from French folk traditions and other ethnic characteristics, so they have a variety of songs. This award-winning and highly acclaimed band is a leading force in Quebec’s progressive francophone folk movement.  The group’s vast repertoire draws from both traditional sources and original compositions, while enhancing it’s hard-driving soulful music with a broad range of global influences.

Their band members are playing various instruments, such as featuring button accordion, guitar, and fiddle. And “the band’s sound is defined by the hurdy-gurdy, which adds an earthy, rough-hewn flavour to even the most buoyant dance tunes.”-Boston Herald

The band’s large number of songs have both traditional sources and original works, while enhancing their passionate and powerful music, and has a broad global influence.
