BC Music Scene-Amahl and the Night Visitors

As we know, because of the pandemic of COVID-19, All of large groups event have been postponed or cancelled. Also COVID-19 effects many music events or operas. The good news is that Vancouver Opera continues their digital 2020–2021 season with the premiere of the holiday classic Amahl and the Night Visitors. Since its first performance on Christmas Eve in 1951, this opera created by Gian Carlo Menotti has attracted widespread attention. According to Wikipedia, Gian Carlo Menotti was an Italian-American composer and librettist who wrote the classic Christmas opera Amahl and the Night Visitors, along with over two dozen other operas intended to appeal to popular taste.

Also, Aahl and the Night Visitors is a very popular opera, which always warms the hearts of audiences around the world. This story talks about three Kings, following the star to Bethlehem, stop for shelter at the home of Amahl, a poor, crippled shepherd boy and his widowed mother. Amahl offers his own simple gift to the Wondrous Child and then a miracle happens.

Watching this opera with you won children at home must be the best choice for weekend nights. Imaging that you are lying on the sofa with your kids, and you are ready with snacks and popcorn, how warm it is to watch as a family.
