The Chutzpah is coming!!!! Chutzpah has bee with us for 20 years. The Lisa Nemetz Festival of international Jewish Performing Arts brings world-renowned international dance, music, theatre, and comedy annually to Vancouver audiences, through a lens of Jewish experiences, stories, and values in all their richness and diversity.Festival will start from November 21to 28, Festival of international Jewish performing arts returns in 2020 with an exciting lineup of performances and stimulating conversations. Festival celebrates its 20th milestone year. Festival was launched in 2001 by the Vancouver West Side Theatre Society. The Society, established and incorporated in 1994, also operates the Festival’s home, the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre, a professionally-equipped 318 seat proscenium theatre catering to the presentation of professional dance, music and theatre, as well as film, literary and community arts events.
Also, because of COVID-19, these events will be the first Festival presented in digital format, they will be able to proceed with the virtual performances for most of shows, so audiences will have the opportunity to watch from the comfort of their own homes. Virtual shows will be presented via Zoom Webinar. One hour prior to your show, ticket holders will be sent a link to access the program, to the email used to purchase the tickets. The tickets start at $18.
But they still have rarely real in-person events at the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre. And the first helmed by new Artistic Managing Director, Jessica Mann Gutteridge who joins the Jewish Community Centre from the theatre company Boca del Lupo and managing Performance Works on Granville Island. Artists will present work from the U.K., Israel, U.S.A., and Canada.
