That’s right folks. It is now October! That means you should already be in the Halloween spirit. Watching scary movies, scaring your friends, and most importantly eating candy. However I don’t stop eating candy so that definitely won’t be an issue. Though I think my favourite thing about Halloween is going out and doing things with my friends. Going out to events, dressing up, going to haunted house attractions. I can’t get enough.
My favourite thing from home was “Deadmonton” which was a big Halloween celebration in Edmonton with tons of haunted houses and things of the like. Luckily for me there are quite a few events in Vancouver that I can attend and get my spooky fill.
From October 4th to October 31st, Playland at the PNE will be holding Fright Nights. Lots of ghoulish fun will be taking place. Attractions like “The Bloodshed” and “Car-N-Evil” will take over as the Thrills and Chills of the event as well as some more haunted attractions. A bunch of the regular rides will also be remaining open late into the night for an extra rush of adrenaline. Fright Nights starts at 7pm each night with varying end times. You can find out more at their website.
A other thing to do that’s more fun than scary is the Vancouver Halloween parade and Expo. With the Expo kicking of on Friday October 11th, people of all ages are sure to enjoy. There will be outdoor performances held at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s North Plaza. There will be comedy shows, bands, and other entertainment. An indoor expo will be held at UBC Robson Square. There will be a cosplay exhibition where artists get to show off their incredible work. The expo will run from the the 11th to the 13th. To close out the weekend there will be the Halloween parade at 11am on Sunday the 13th. The parade will start on Granville street and will feature 20 groups and 1000 performers.
I seriously recommend going to at least one Halloween event this season. It’ll be so worth it. Go and get your spooky on!
