New Marijuana Laws Leave Space for Black Market Selling

On Monday, a new set of rules about the sale of recreational marijuana was released, but production licenses for smaller producers have yet to be determined.

Owner of Vancouver-based PotSquatch Growers, Josh Fletcher, says the significant cost and time involved with licensing smaller producers who already exist, produce and distribute, is the perfect breeding ground for black market production.

The black market right now, it’s been living and breathing for decades upon decades in regards to this stuff. If you look down in California right now, the black market is currently stronger than it has ever been.

Under the new laws, B.C. will allow adults to grow up to four cannabis plants per household.
