These are research activities from across BCIT but outside of the Centre for Energy Systems Applications whose content directly relates to the mandate of CESA. Please see each program’s host website for more information.
“The mission of the BCIT Building Science Centre of Excellence (BSCE) is to establish a regional education and research capacity in Building Science and Building Engineering, to advance the state of practice for the building construction industry, and to become a recognized knowledge-based node in the global network of building science experts.”
“The School of Energy’s boiler, co-generation and industrial instrumentation facility is a significant part of infrastructure construction happening at BCIT. While physical conduits distribute energy from the facility across the BCIT campus, CEER is also a nexus for academic connection, drawing together academics and researchers from across the institute. At CEER, students, faculty and operations personnel work together in a cross-disciplinary learning and research environment focused on energy production, distribution, sustainability and management.”
“TSmart Microgrid Applied Research Team (SMART) converges Information Technology, Communication Engineering and Computing fields to develop prototypes and solutions for complex applied research problems. Our group conducts applied R&D in emerging and next generation technologies and helps stimulate BC’s IT industry through joint, collaborative industry, academic, and government research. “
