October is Cyber Awareness Month and this year BCIT is excited to have partnered with the Canadian Center for Cyber Security to provide information and resources to support BCIT’s community and promote the importance of staying safe and secure online. There are a number of virtual events that are now open for registration on the BCIT Be Cyber Aware website.
What is new this year?
We invite you and your team(s) to join Let’s Spot a phish challenge this October, a month-long phishing campaign challenge, open to all attendees who register and attend the October 1st launch. Spot all the phishing emails in October, by sending them to phishing@bcit.ca, and you will be entered into a draw to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.
Register and learn more about this year’s virtual cyber awareness learning sessions:
- October 1: Keynote by Canadian Center for Cyber Security (CCCS)
- October 7: Phishing Campaign Workshop
- October 13: Data Privacy and Security in the Time of COVID-19
- October 28: The Evolution of Crypto Crime
Each virtual session will end with a prize draw, so make sure to register for a chance to win some great prizes, and on the final day we’ll be giving away a grand prize – Lenovo Smart Tab M10 with Dock, if you attend all four events. All attendees will also receive a certificate of attendance after completing all the learning sessions.
Thank you for your continued efforts to improve cyber security at BCIT and we look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Cyber Awareness events.
