BC Hacks 2.0 is the second iteration of UBCOkanagan’s hackathon organized by the CSCU (UBC Computer Science Course Union) and will run from February 20th to 21st.
The event was attended by over 160 people last year and they are expecting around 200 applications this year as well. BC Hacks 2.0 is the perfect opportunity for CS majors to create something, practice their soft skills, and network. Overall, the event is a great opportunity for students to branch out and learn new things.
Each member of the top three winning teams gets $200, $150, and $100 gift cards of their choice. There will be many other prizes during mini-events and activities. Participants will be helped at each step starting from registration to building their project and submitting it.
It would be a wonderful learning and networking opportunity for students from BCIT and UBC. The event sponsor is Cisco and is partnered by the Developers Student Club at UBCV, Royal Bank of Canada, and UBCO Design.
