TeenWork
Our mobile app, TeenWork, offers a solution on the challenge of post-pandemic employment for youths. On our platform, youths are able to navigate through the app and apply for jobs, volunteer opportunities, or internships that correspond to their skill sets. The application contains many unique features such as a map (using the location sensor), profile page with skills, and search tool for jobs. It has been programmed by our app programmers using the Thunkable platform.

WorkOn
We have created a platform that integrates wellness and self-care with efficient work habits to enable young users achieve their goals. WorkOn has been designed to accommodate struggles of all students; however we have specifically designed it for younger students (9-16 years) needing help on improving their work habits for a better future. WorkOn puts the user first and is developed based on user input and scientific research.
Some key features of WorkOn include personalized daily suggestions, an embedded activity tracker, to-do list and a pomodoro timer for students.

SteadyTrack
SteadyTrack was created to help high schoolers keep track of experiences and accomplishments that help when applying for any jobs or post-secondary education. Our app includes an entry feature that allows users to save all important details that would be needed for future reference, as well as search functions for easy access to specific information. Users can create an account that is accessible from any iOS device. Our team is the best fit to produce this app because we understand both the problem and the demographic on a personal level.

EyesHelper
The project we designed is an application named EyesHelper. It is a mobile application designed to aid with the needs of those who have vision impairment. We learned from those with vision impairment that the main issue they face on a daily basis is that they can not read texts clearly and efficiently. Therefore, we designed our app: it allows the user to take a photo of the text they want to read, and adjust the text size and listen to it being read aloud. It’s fairly simple to navigate, with large buttons and bold colors.

Flappy Fish
In this ocean pollution game made by team C&M, our main character (Augustus the Fish) tries to avoid the piles of garbage. When Augustus hits the “pipes” of garbage, the game is over. Named “FlappyFish”, our game/app features: the main attraction, a game, and a fun facts page. Yes, a facts page! In addition to our fun game, which promotes awareness of ocean pollution already, we also have a frequently updated facts page for those who want to learn about ocean pollution directly. “FlappyFish” is a app filled with non-stop fun! Connected Teens
Our app helps teen immigrants connect with each other and their community so they can get involved and integrated faster. We have started by developing 3 main sections: 1) Sports, 2) Community and Socializing, and 3) Arts. We believe that teens are productive independent contributors to the communities where they live, study, volunteer and work. Our app is a tool for them to become integrated with their new environment faster through participating in select recommended activities.

Light
Light is made by youth, for youth, with the purpose of addressing the growing challenges of mental health facing students in Canada today. This app combines a user-friendly interface with a wide collection of mental health supports, including informative websites, crisis helplines, and mindfulness activities, all carefully curated for young people in British Columbia. Our aim is to make mental health resources more accessible for students than ever before on topics ranging from depression and anxiety to sexual health and gender identity. Let’s break the stigma surrounding these issues by shining a light on mental health!

Climatrex
Climate change is a vital issue in our world, so we invented Climatrex, an app that enables people to fight climate change right from their phones. Climatrex tracks the CO2 used by your phone by evaluating the amount of CO2e consumed by using social medias, downloading images, etc. Climatrex uses social nudging to guide users to reduce emissions by decreasing screen time and doing activities like walking, or by buying in-app purchases of micro-offsets (which can be as small as $1). We then aggregate the offset purchases to get great deals supporting amazing offsetting projects, and supporting sustainable development globally.

Bear Aware Neighbourhood
We decided to create a mobile app that helps people safely co-exist with bears. It allows people to get educated about safely living near bears by taking a quiz with their neighbours. The app also allows people to report sightings to their neighbourhood which sends a mobile alert to everyone in a safe way that doesn’t endanger the bears.
