This week, May 13 – 19, is National Police Week. On this episode of For the Record on Evolution 107-9, I spoke with Constable Anne-Marie Clark who works for the Vancouver Police Department as the Social Media Officer. Clark is very active on social media, and says the main goal of her work is for people to feel as though the VPD is accessible and friendly.

Clark spoke about Police Week, highlighting programs and services many people might not know the VPD offers. Two of the programs are the VPD Cadet Academy, the VPD Indigenous Cadet Academy, and the New Kids Program, which introduces young people who are new to Canada to the VPD, and to the country.

Clark shared some anecdotes from her time as a police officer, and spoke about her experience as a police woman – something she says has been more of an advantage than disadvantage over the years.
