Jesse Darnell is a Trades Access instructor at BCIT’s School of Transportation. When he heard about the wildfire on the Ashcroft Indian Band reserve, he knew immediately he wanted to help.

Darnell first heard about the devastation through a media story about the band’s maintenance manager. He then contacted his BCIT colleagues asking for tools donations.

In the end, Darnell managed to gather nearly thousand pounds of donations that included plumbing tools, steel trade donations, welding tools and many others that the Band could use to rebuild their homes.
