Elaine Woo, instructor with the Chemical and Environmental Technology program spoke to the group briefly about the importance of industry relations and how meaningful her reciprocal relationship with Thermo Fisher Scientific is to the institute.

“The new spectrometer is an important tool to be utilized by students to gain hands-on experience and achieve analytical competency for both the day school program and the assayer certification,” said Elaine, who has been working closely with Thermo Fisher Scientific Director of Commercial Sales, Richard Denis.

“I believe the donated equipment would bring marketing benefits to Thermo, mainly through exposure of this line of instruments to our students who are either from the analytical industry or will potentially be employed in the same industry,” she said. “I hope we will continue to work together for mutual benefits.”
