Canadian Construction Women connects with female trades students

CCW event

Students and other event attendees listen to a panel on women in trades.

Canadian Construction Women (CCW) hosted a special panel and networking event for about 60 female trades students and industry at BCIT on January 24, 2012.  CCW partnered with BCIT Trades Discovery, BCIT School of Construction and the Environment, and the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA).  Inspiring stories from four panel experts—Tamara Pongracz, Kathleen Scott, Kate Stewart, and Kelly Kienleitner —provided students and women already in the field with helpful guidance.

CCW provides members with opportunities for support, mentoring, networking, community involvement, learning, and development. CCW acts as a resource about construction and exists to attract and retain women in the industry. They host monthly events on the third Tuesday of every month; sign up on their website to get event notices.
