On January 16, BCIT International welcomed a group of 12 Brazilian students and one instructor from partner school ESPM, a well-known school of design and advertising in Brazil. Students came from three major cities—Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre—to attend the 3D Animation Production course taught by BCIT’s Digital Arts department.

Despite leaving Brazil in the middle of a hot summer, not even the cold and damp can cool the excitement of these design students, who are keen to experience Vancouver’s animation industry.

Six BCIT Digital Animation students have volunteered to pair up with the Brazilian students to offer ideas and guidance throughout their project work. This is an exciting opportunity for both groups of students to share their background and experiences, expand their networks, and make new friends.

Aside from intensive classes, project, and lab work, the ESPM students will hear lectures from industry guest speakers and visit major animation and production studios in the city, such as Electronic Arts, CTV, Rainmaker, and The Embassy.
