Awesense Wireless wins BC Hydro Sustainability Award

Kelowna’s Awesense Wireless Inc. has won the $40,000 BC Hydro Sustainability prize through the 2011 BCIC’s (BC Innovation Council) New Ventures competition. Awesense is headed by CEO Mischa Steiner-Jovic, a graduate of the Electrical and Computer Engineering – Telecommunications and Networks program at BCIT. Awesense’s mobile wireless smart sensors help identify key areas of electrical loss.

The announcement was made at the BCIC-New Ventures Competition’s 11th Annual Awards Ceremony, which took place at SFU’s Segal Graduate School of Business in Vancouver on September 22.
