Finally, some down time!
Last week was hellish – three midterms and a major project or two due. I feel like a hermit, constantly studying and trying to fit in as much as I can into my evenings and between classes. Now that the worst is over, the next big hurdle is probably going to be final projects and final exams. As always.
Still, there’s next week to consider: more projects, midterms, and assignments to do. I’m not quite done midterms yet but I’ll get there eventually. Some of my courses have more than one midterm to write so after this round of mid-semester midterms, I’ll be writing a few more second-time-around midterms.
Meanwhile, my architecture project is going to get kicked into high gear. Right now it’s in its design stages – lots of sketching, drawing, and so forth – but later on, I’ll be building a scale model out of it with foam core. I’m not going to lie, the model build is the part I’m most looking forward to. I have a huge interest invested in model building – I even have a pretty classy Iwata airbrush I bought a few years ago so I could use Alclad 2 lacquers for realistic metal finishes on my model planes. Still, I’m a little nervous about it – besides, painting it isn’t really part of the assignment – it’s putting the pieces together that is. And it’s probably going to be a huge portion of my mark this semester and I don’t want to screw it up!
In completely other news, my baby bunny that I picked up as a stray is going in for surgery tomorrow to get spayed. She’s not really a baby anymore (she kind of exploded in size in the last few months) but she’s only roughly six months old. Wish her luck!
