Spring has officially sprung!
Here are four different activities to celebrate with:
1. A Local Hike:
The snow is no more… for now! Celebrate by grabbing a friend and taking them on a local hike. For beginning hikers, start with Quarry Rock or the Lighthouse Park which both take around an hour to complete. More advanced hikers should try the Stawamus Chief or Garibaldi Lake, both taking a maximum of 5 or 6 hours.
2. Enchanted Forest (Thursday, March 23):
Venture on a 1-hour nature quest and find out how trees talk to each other through their roots at the Aldergrove Regional Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Look for forest sprites and rock trolls, and make sure to dress in costume and bring food to roast on the campfire at this free event.
3. Fraser Valley Food Truck Festival:
Enjoy a meal from 25 different food trucks at various venues throughout Metro Vancouver. Each venue will have live music, face painting, and balloon twisting. The first festival happens on April 1st at Inlet Park in Port Moody. To check out the full schedule visit: www.fvfoodtruckfestival.com.
4. Abbotsford Tulip Festival (April 10 – May 7):
The Abbotsford Tulip Festival is a fun and beautiful way to start spring. Walk through acres upon acres of rainbow-coloured tulip fields and bring a bouquet of fresh cut flowers home with you. The festival doesn’t open until April 10th, but it is a good idea to get your tickets now before they sell out!
