The death of an Abbotsford man found yesterday is starting to look like a homicide. Police were called to Farmer Road on Sunday to investigate what seemed to be a body in a nearby field.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation team has taken over the investigation. Police say that the man has not yet been identified, but appears to be 20-30 years old. Cause of death has not yet been determined but is being considered suspicious.
“It is too early to say whether this is gang related or a targeted killing. At this point the priority is to identify the deceased and confirm the cause of death so as to move the investigation forward.” says Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
IHIT is still canvassing the area and are asking anyone who may have information to come forward and speak with investigators
