Premier Clark shakes hands with Mr. Wang Qishan

Premier Christy Clark met today with His Excellency Mr. Wang Qishan, the Vice Premier of the State Council of China. He was joined by a delegation of senior ranking Chinese officials.

The meeting was to strengthen ties and improve relations between B.C. and China.

“B.C. values its strong relationships with China and we want to maximize B.C.’s potential as a destination for Chinese investment and as a North American hub for trans-Pacific trade, business and cultural exchange,” says Premier Clark.

China is currently B.C.’s second-largest trading partner after the U.S. There was $12.7 billion dollars of trade between the two in 2010.
